Alappuzha: Finance Minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac came out in support of controversial additional Chief Secretary (Finance) K M Abraham on Sunday in the wake of the latter’s house being raided by the Vigilance Department the other day in connection with a disproportionate asset case. Talking to reporters here, the Minister said that Mr Abraham was an efficient bureaucrat having an impeccable service record in the finance department of the state.
His stand on corruption was obvious in the Sahara case that helped the country get revenue of hundreds of crores. His service was laudable during the last UDF government and in the Central service as well, he said. “It was the rulers who were responsible for corruption during the UDF regime. The officials had no role in it,” the minister said. When asked about the Vigilance raid, the minister said that the Chief Minister would speak about vigilance since he handled that portfolio.
