Lorry strike results in loss of Rs 150 crore business
Town buses, autos and taxi were plying as usual on Tuesday in and around Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Around Rs 150 crore worth businesses were affected following the truck strike in Coimbatore district on Tuesday.
More than 15,000 trucks did not operate on Tuesday in Coimbatore district supporting the farmers’ stir across the state demanding the release of Cauvery water from Karnataka.
Town buses, autos and taxi were plying as usual on Tuesday in and around Coimbatore.
KSRTC bus service to Karnataka was stopped. A few buses heading to Karnataka left Gandhipuram bus stand before 6.30 am but later on the Karnataka bus service was stopped. More than 15 buses were parked at the Gandhipuram bus stand.
