KARIMNAGAR: The representatives of the Backward Class Vidyarthi Sangam (BCVS) demanded that the Central government take up the repairing works of national highway from Karimnagar to Warangal and the construction works of NH-563 from Jagtial to Kodad.
State coordinator of the BCVS Jakkani Sanjay Kumar, along with others, met the secretary of ministry of national road transport and highways department Giridhar Aramane at the Transport Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday and submitted a representation to him urging him to take up the repairing works of NH-563 as early as possible.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kumar said by identifying the major road between Jagtial to Kodad, the Union government issued a gazette notification with number 773 (E) on March 4, 2014, including it under national highway-563. But the construction works were not taken up by the government till date.
The road from Jagtial to Kodhada was in worse condition with a large number of potholes making it difficult for people to travel by road. Apart from that, even after releasing funds for the widening and repairing of the national highway from Karimnagar to Warangal, the works were not yet taken up, he alleged.
The issue was taken to the notice of the concerned officials and public representatives on number of occasions, but there was no change and officials were not even taking up repairing works due to which a lot of people were facing it hardships to travel on NH-563 between Jagtial to Kodad and Karimnagar to Warangal districts, he pointed out.
He requested the officials of the ministry to take initiation and speed up the works as early as possible. The representatives of the BCVS P. Ajay Patel, M. Sanjeev, K. Pavan and Rakesh Netha were present.
