Hyderabad: Realtor's wife staged robbery to get a share of property
Hyderabad: A realtor’s wife staged a drama of being robbed off Rs 41 lakh by two people at her house in order to save some money for herself, fearing that her husband may not give any share in the property, and give to his second wife instead. The Saroornagar police arrested the woman on Monday.
According to LB Nagar DCP M. Venkateshwar Rao, K. Narayana, a realtor has been living at Maitri Nagar in Dilsukhnagar.
He has two wives but was living with his first wife Sudha. On July 28, Narayana went to Chevella for some work at about 6 pm.
The next morning, Sudha called Narayana and informed that two unidentified people had entered their house forcibly and took Rs 41 lakh in cash, that he had given to her to keep safe. He rushed back to the city and lodged a complaint with the Saroornagar police.
During the probe, the team verified the CCTV footage of the cameras installed at the apartment and found that no outsider had visited the apartment and Sudha was faking the robbery.
She was taken into custody and questioned, where she confessed to having to stage a drama, he said.
DCP Rao said, “Sudha was worried that her husband would not give her any share in his property and give it to his second wife. She hid the cash in a box and kept in under the bed in their bedroom. Based on her confession, the cash has been recovered and she was arrested.”
