Gujarati crafts and a food mela' is on at Gujarati Samaj Bhavan till August 7, from 10 am to 9 pm.

Coimbatore: On his visit to inaugurate ‘Sadakal Gujarat- Gatishil Gujarat’, the Gujarat Law and Justice minister, Pradeep Singh Jadeja applauded the progress achieved by Tamil Nadu in the industrial sector in the last few years in a row.

Asked if the Gujarat government has been inviting industrialists and entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu to set up businesses in Gujarat like here, the minister said that he was in the city to focus on culture and tradition, which was not familiar to the second and third generation of Gujaratis living here. There are various sectors in Gujarat, which are worth investing in and there is a huge growth and investment opportunity as well.

“Tamil Nadu has made good progress in the industrial sector during the last few years,” he said during the inaugural function at Kikani School. However, he refused to respond to a query on the Dalits-related conflicts in Gujarat, following the incident in Una. Recently, this month on July 11, a few Dalit youths were assaulted for skinning a dead cow. The incident led to violent protests in several parts of the state.

Mr Jadeja is here to participate in a two-day programme to celebrate the 75 years of ‘Gujarati Samaj’, to promote the cultural values and the tradition of the state. Gujarati crafts and a ‘food mela’ is on at Gujarati Samaj Bhavan till August 7, from 10 am to 9 pm.
