KOCHI: The CPM has launched a scathing attack CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran by stating the CPI leader has been engaged in weakening Left unit by openly welcoming persons expelled from CPM. In a hard hitting statement CPM Ernakulam district secretariat on Saturday accused Kanam of garlanding those engaged in collaborating with enemies of the working class.
The CPM diatribe against the CPI leader is in the wake of the latter attending a meeting in which persons expelled by CPM in Ernakulam was admitted to the CPI. The statement issued by CPM Ernakulam district secretary P. Rajeev pointed out that CPI has admitted people expelled from CPM for “obnoxious behaviour towards the wife of a martyr”.
Reguvaran, a prominent leader who joined the CPI, was expelled for entering into an agreement inimical to the interest of the workers, the statement said. The attitude of Reguvaran and his cronies has made life unbearable, said wife of Vidyadharan, a martyr of the party, in a written complaint. V.O. John was caught red-handed for leaking out party reports to the media and was expelled.
“If Kanam thinks that he can strengthen the CPI by admitting persons known for being faithful servants of class enemies let it be,” the statement said. But the attitude of the CPI in the district is against the interest of Left unity, it added.
