AIG Hospitals, UoH sign pact for clinical innovations

The MoU was signed at the University of Hyderabad campus amidst a two-day scientific seminar on microbes in health & disease

Hyderabad: AIG Hospitals and University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Monday signed a MoU to expedite research collaboration and clinical innovations.

It was signed by Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals and Prof. B.J. Rao, vice-chancellor, University of Hyderabad. The partnership will involve a specialised doctoral programme for medical students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nageshwar Reddy said “The collaboration will involve highly accomplished doctors from AIG and knowledgeable researchers from the varsity’s School of Life Sciences. The vision is to blend basic science research and clinical expertise to translate lab work into patient care. In the longer run, we are looking at better understanding of diseases and finding cures that match our population.”

Prof. B.J. Rao, said “We will co-develop newer courses for doctors like an MD-PhD integrated program along with extending our research expertise to AIG Hospitals where clinicians will work on the patient care part.”
