HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old B. Tech third-year student, who was going through trauma for the past two months, died by suicide at his house in Hasthinapuram.
The victim G. Vamshidhara Reddy ended his life late Wednesday night in his bedroom, L B Nagar police said here on Thursday.
His father G. Kondal Reddy and his mother G. Supraja were out of the station to attend an interview at the US consulate. When Kondal Reddy called Vamshidhara on his mobile, the son did not respond upon which he sent one of his cousins to check if everything was alright. The cousin called up Kondal Reddy a little later saying that Vamshidhara had died, police said.
Though family members said that Vamshidhara was fighting depression, police are trying to establish the exact reason for him taking the extreme step. Police registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.
