State will convince courts on VACB director's posting: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
KOCHI: The CPM state secretary, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, on Thursday, said the state government would try to convince the judiciary that Jacob Thomas has been appointed as nthe chief of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau considering all the aspects and following norms. Replying to queries on the High Court criticising the appointment, he said the court makes observations while considering specific cases. “The government will examine details of the HC observation and will take necessary steps,” he said.
He urged the state government to bring new legislation to make all constructions in Munnar eco-friendly. “All the deserving persons in Munnar should be provided with title deeds,” he said. He launched water conservation programme of his party with the cleaning of the Kuthpady Thalikulam pond near Thammanam. Its district leaders inaugurated cleaning elsewhere in the district. They plan to clean 40 water sources including wells and ponds with people’s participation.
