Forgery plaint lodged against poll candidate Madhusudhanan
Chennai: A forgery complaint was lodged against O. Panneerselvam faction’s RK Nagar by-poll candidate, E. Madhusudhanan, of having abused his official power as Cabinet Minister during AIADMK regime two decades ago.
The plaint lodged by A.R Palani, of Vyasarpadi, refers to Madhushudhanan who was in the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s cabinet as textiles minister during 1995. “A ground floor flat - H1/1, WW Unit, KK Nagar Scheme, of Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB), which was allotted to one C. Vijayalakshmi was later transferred in the name of Madhusudhanan. Vijayalakshmi has submitted her identification proof as her Electoral ID Card no DBL4339198, as issued on January 1, 1999 by the EC of India in Alandur Assembly Constituency.
The woman’s husband name was mentioned as Madhusudhanan according to the identification card. The application for the property was made on July 26, 1995 and the said property was allotted to her later in December that year, and was registered in her name through Ashok Nagar sub-Registrar Office.
The property was later transferred to Madhusudhnan’s name via a sale deed. Vijayalakshmi is a fictitious persona for whom the photo of Jeeva, wife of Madhusudhanan was used. A cross-verification of another sale proceedings of a property acquired by Madhusudhanan and executed by Jeeva rendered the picture used with the credentials of Vijayalakshmi were one and the same.
The second sale deed pertains to that of a property in Tirunindravur, and was registered in Avadi sub-Registrar office. Certified copies from both the sub-Registrar offices were used to make this point, the complaint stated.
The complaint further maintained that it was this Madhusudhanan who filed his nomination as a ‘dummy’ candidate for the late Jayalalithaa when she contested from the RK Nagar constituency for the byelection in 2015 and as well as in the Assembly Election 2016. Madhusudhanan has declared the TNHB flat as his property in his nomination papers and his wife’s name as Jeeva.
Madhusudhanan was not available for the comment despite repeated efforts from DC. Sources close to Madhusudhanan clarified that Jeeva is a pet name of Vijayalakshmi, married to Madhusudhanan. Both names figure in the betrothal and marriage invitations of the couple. “Same clarification had been offered when the issue was raised earlier and the present petition is politically motivated”, source said.
