TS to recruit PMOOs for Kanti Velugu

Officers with functional auto refractometer machines will be given priority

Hyderabad: The health department has issued guidelines for recruitment of paramedical ophthalmic officers (PMOOs) in order to implement the Kanti Velugu programme. The second phase of the programme will be launched on January 18 across the state, during which 1.5 crore people will be screened.

The responsibility to recruit officers for the programme has been entrusted to a committee headed by district collectors, and selections will be done via walk-in interviews on an outsourcing basis.

Notifications for the posts will be out on December 1, while interviews will be held on December 5. The final merit list will be released on December 10.

The minimum qualification for the posts is a two-year diploma in DOA/DOM and the applicants must be registered with the Telangana Paramedical Board. Officers with functional auto refractometer machines will be given priority, the monthly rentals for which will be paid by DMHOs at rates stated by the government.

The PMOOs will be paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 30,000.
