Bengaluru: On her birthday, Ramya rising
Bengaluru: Politics is the art of the possible but it could sometimes realise the most impossible of your dreams. On Wednesday when actor-politician and former Mandya MP Ramya celebrated her birthday, twitter was replete with comments on her dizzying career rise, making one of her fans comment that she was 'a unique lady who would one day be CM'!
The greetings kept pouring in and one-from none other than Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi- definitely made everyone sit up and take notice. He described her as "an asset" of the Congress party even as good wishes came in from Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah and Congress leaders including Sachin Pilot and Randeep Surjewala.
Not that Ramya did not deserve it at all. In six months, the actor turned politician had toiled to refurbish the party's image on social media leaving many in the BJP wondering who was behind all those stinging rejoinders to every policy and pronouncement of theirs.
Where to from here? That's something the actor must have figured out with Assembly polls approaching and her stock fast rising in Congress circles.
Karnataka, watch out, here comes the 'Ramya storm' to sweep you off your feet.
