Mahatma Gandhi University first semester results in mess
KOCHI: A controversy is raging in MG University over the publication of undergraduate arts and science course students’ first semester results with complaints pouring in that results of hundreds of students are yet to be out while the university refuses to confirm the same. “The students who now study in fourth semester are now in a dilemma. This year’s first semester examination starts on Wednesday and if students had failed to clear the first semester exam last year they will not be able to attend the supplementary exam this year,” said the faculty of a self-financing college in Kochi on Tuesday.
He said that the first semester results came out on November 17. “When it was pointed out to the university section that the results of some of the students are not out, they said that it will be out by November 22. However, this did not happen, following which we tried to contact the section several times, but to no avail. One senior official said on Tuesday that the exams will be held as scheduled. Some students are now planning to approach court.
There are 22 students affected in our college while we understand several students of Al Ameen College, Edat-hala, Cochin College and St Peter’s College Kolencherry, DB College in Thalayolaparambu are also affected,” said a faculty of RU College, Manakkakadavu, Ernakulam. Meanwhile, MG University vice-chancellor Dr Babu Sebastian said that only the cases of KG College Pambady and Government College Manimalak-unnu were brought to his notice. “Instructions were given to resolve it and I directed authorities to let students write supplementary exams even without hall tickets. I will resolve any genuine case brought before me,” he added.
