Woman cops celebrate 25th year of service in Vijayawada

Police commissioner Gautam Sawang distributes clothes to visually-challenged students at a function organised by woman police in Vijayawada on Saturday.
Vijayawada: Woman cops of the 1991 batch celebrated their Silver Jubilee in service on Saturday. As many as 36 woman police personnel celebrated the occasion at the Vijaya Mary integrated school for blind, Gunadala. They cut a cake to mark the 25th year of service and distributed blankets to the blind students.
Vijayawada police commissioner D. Goutam Sawang attended the function as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sawang appreciated the gesture shown by the woman police. He requested the woman police to continue their services and to take part in Mahila Chaitanya Samiti, an initiative started by the Vijayawada police to address issues of women. Top police officials were present.
