Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Hands Over Financial Aid to Indigent Artistes

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin gave away assistance to a wide range of indigent artistes, which included a cash reward of Rs one lakh each to 10 impoverished Kalaimamani Award winners on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Iyal, Isai, Nataka Mandram (literature, music and dance association) on Friday.

At a function held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister handed over cheques to six such Kalaimamani winners and five other poor artistes who were among the 500 members of the Tamil Nadu Folk Artistes Welfare Board, chosen to receive Rs 10,00 each for purchase of musical instruments and dress and accessories. The board has allotted Rs 50 lakh for the purpose.

Stalin also gave away Rs 3000 each to six of the senior artistes from among the 1000 chosen to receive the monthly assistance.
