More cases of heart ailment after Covid19, says collector

Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dilli Rao said on Friday that everyone should be caring more for heart care. He was speaking at the Marathon - 2023 organised under the aegis of Varun Cardiac and Neuro Sciences on the occasion of World Heart Day.

The collector flagged off the World Heart Day Marathon at Indira Gandhi Stadium. It passed through MG Road, PVP Mall, Moghalrajpuram, Food Court and reached the starting point.

Dilli Rao said that many people were suffering from heart disease due to lifestyle changes. He expressed concern over the increase in the number of people suffering from cardiac-related diseases after Covid-19.

Dr. Guntur Varun, Head of Varun Cardiac and Neurosciences, said that having awareness about heart diseases, identifying the symptoms of the disease in time and taking proper treatment can protect the heart.

“By avoiding harmful substances like smoking, by doing physical exercise, and by adopting proper eating habits, one can maintain a healthy heart,” he said.

Dr Varun explained that they provide comprehensive medical services for heart disease with a 24-hour emergency treatment department and international-level facilities.

The Zumba dances, yoga and solo ring performances which were performed at the event received a huge response from the public. Chairman of Vijaya Dairy Chalasani Anjaneyulu, Principal of Vijaya School of Nursing Arjuna Rao and others were present.
