Hyderabad: 17 new swine flu cases, total at 165
Hyderabad: With 17 new cases confirmed on Tuesday, the number of swine flu cases registered between August 1 and August 28 has risen to 165. There has been an increase in the number of swine flu cases due to the dip in temperatures and the infection spreading through contact. As many as six patients are undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, an 8-year-old among them.
Experts say that treatment at home for patients even with less viral load is not possible because isolation will not be total.
Dr R Reddy, senior health official, explained, “The patient needs to be monitored every three hours in the first two days. After that once the viral load is reduced, the patient recovers but must still be kept under observation as rest is required for the body to bounce back.”
