Thiruvananthapuram: After 13 years, SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan hogged the limelight at Sivagiri Mutt on Friday. The venue was the joint meeting by SNDP Yogam and Sivagiri Mutt's leadership meet which saw the nonagenarian and former president of Mutt, Swamy Prakashananda, and BDJS president Tushar Vellappally also sharing the dais. Mr Natesan told reporters he was not keen to sabotage anyone's position just because he's back.
Ever since Swamy Vishuddhananda took over as the new president of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust last year, his return was almost certain. “BJP national leadership were also keen to see the two Ezhava entities join hands,” said a Mutt member. The presence of Swami Prakashananda, who had once opposed Mr Natesan, was quite surprising. Mr Natesan was not welcome there after the police action in 1995.
