Libraries help shape youth into better citizens: K T Rama Rao
Karimnagar: The District Central Library constructed at a cost of `3.6 crore at Ambedkar Chowrastha in Sircilla town was inaugurated by TRS working president and Sircilla MLA, K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday.
Mr Rama Rao said, “Reading is a healthy habit. These days technology is ruling the world and many students and youth are addicted to their smartphones wasting their life. Libraries help shape students and youth into better future citizens.”
The District Central Library was inspired from the Asia-Pacific Library in Mumbai and has been designed like the White House in America with the latest facilities. The library has been named after legendary poet and writer C. Narayana Reddy as a mark of respect.
He appealed to all to visit the library and utilise the services.
Mr Rama Rao who was in Rajanna Sircilla district to participate in various developmental works also inaugurated the community hall in Subashnagar constructed at a cost of `25 lakh and the CNR auditorium near the new bus stand in Sircilla town which was renovated at a cost of `50 lakh.
Libraries department, state president Sridhar, MLC Bhanu Prasad Rao, district libraries department chairman Akunuri Shankaraiah, district collector D. Krishna Bhaskar, superintendent of police Rahul Hegde and municipal chairperson Samala Pavani were among those who were present.
