Missing case: Ajitabh's family calls for CBI probe

Police claim they were not been able to crack the case as the criminals have executed hi-tech methods and left behind no clues.

BENGALURU: With the city police unable to find Ajitabh, a 30-year-old techie who went missing in December last year, his family has requested the high court to transfer the case to CBI. Ajitabh’s family had requested the police to get the details from tech companies such as Google, Facebook and WhatsApp, which could help in the investigation.

The city police officials claimed they had requested the above mentioned companies for information that can help in finding the missing techie. But these companies did not cooperate, they added. His family now wants the CBI to take up the case and approach these companies for details.Police claim they were not been able to crack the case as the criminals have executed hi-tech methods and left behind no clues.

The city police are literally groping in the dark.Ajitabh, a resident of Whitefield, had posted an ad on an online portal to sell his car. On December 18, he had left his house around 6.30 pm after receiving a call from a buyer, but never returned.Ajitabh’s father Ashok Sinha had earlier approached the Karnataka High Court and requested transfer of the case to CBI, but the court had then transferred the case to CID, based on city police’s response.
