KOZHIKODE: Following the success of many innovative projects for women and children, the Kudumbasree central CDS unit, Kozhikode, is venturing out into a day home for the elderly and children. Its chairperson Beena K. said the Heaven on Earth would offer daycare facility at Thondayad at nominal rates.
“We target professionals who otherwise find it difficult to manage with their dependents at home when they go out for work,” she said. “Many people complain that though they wish to give full-time care to their aged parents, it’s not possible with their hectic work schedules. Heaven on Earth will be a solace for such people.”
Though the facility is aimed at providing care to the kids and the elderly from 8 am to 6 pm, they are ready to extend the time on demand. There will be healthy food, interactive programmes for the kids as well as the service of doctors. “There will be people working on late night shifts. We are ready to reschedule or extend the duration according to their demands,” she said.
