Hyderabad: Record high temperatures on Ugadi day

The local weather bureau has issued a warning of high temperatures across the state for March 30 and 31.

Hyderabad: The city recorded 40.5 degrees Celsius on Ugadi day, the highest so far this season. Adilabad district at 41 degrees C was the highest in the state followed by Nizamabad at 40 degrees C. This is likely to remain for the next two days.

The local weather bureau has issued a warning of high temperatures across the state for March 30 and 31. The maximum (day) temperature will continue to be around two or three degrees above normal, at above 40 degrees in all districts of Telangana state.

The forecast for Hyderabad and rest of the state is mainly clear skies and dry weather, with no signs of cloud formation.

Moving slightly towards the north-east, the upper air cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood now lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
