10-day rituals to mark first anniversary of Samata Murty Utsaah Kendra

HYDERABAD: The Samata Murty Utsaah Kendra which completes it's first year will conduct its first annual programme from February 2nd till February 12.

Speaking at a press conference Swami Cheena Jeeyar said that the Statue of Equality was open to the all and millions of people have visited the Statue since its inauguration.

He said that it's been one year already and the annual programme will be held for 10 days and yagyas will be performed on the occasion, which was symbolic of new birth of the human race.

" Opportunities must be open to all irrespective of their status and the Statue of Equality stands for this message. People from all sections of the society are welcome here and the 216 feet panchaloha Ramanuja statue is open to everyone." said Jeeyar Swami.

He further said that in order to bring a transform the society it was necessary to reform the temples and the temple administration in the country, reinstating the temple oriented society like earlier times. He recalled the times of Ramanujulu, saying that there were governments that ran the temples in those times and gave 50% reservations to lower sections of the society.

On the question of being awarded the Padma Bhushan, Jeeyar said, " We never expected or wanted it. We will continue on our path of mission for the betterment of the society ".
