Hyderabad: 27 policemen booked for not wearing helmets
Hyderabad: 27 police officials were booked for not wearing helmets while driving bikes in Falaknuma and Santoshnagar divisions. The south zone police conducted a special drive to crack down on cops, who violate road rules. Three sub inspectors were among the 27 caught. “A penalty of Rs 100 was imposed under Section 129/177 of the MV Act on the cops. A GD entry was also made since it was the first offence.
If they repeat the offence a second time they will be given a charge memo, and the third time they will be recommended for suspension and departmental enquiry apart from fine.
