Rahul Gandhi will address the rally at Shanghumugham beach on December 1.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress is set to stage a show strength on the concluding day of the Padayorukkam rally led by Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala at Shanghumugham beach here on December 1. AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address the rally to be attended by over one lakh people at 5.30 p.m. He will hold talks with the KPCC leaders the next day and also attend the birth centenary of RSP leader Baby John at Senate Hall. Mr Rahul Gandhi will arrive at the Thiruvananthapuram airport at 4 p.m. on Friday and proceed to the beach.
Mr Chennithala said in Kollam on Tuesday that the CPM-CPI spat had hit the ruling front badly. The two allies were taking cudgels against each other every day, he told reporters. “Governance has come to a standstill. The LDF government’s programmes, Haritha Keralam, Aardram, LIFE mission etc, have derailed. The only thing happening these days is encroachment,” he said and added that a UDF delegation will visit the controversial Kurinjimala on December 6.
