BJP mission to aid cashless economy
Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time in the country, BJP in Kerala has come out with a mission to prepare people for a cashless monetary system. The BJP's digital banking literacy mission (DBLM) comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a cashless society. State president Kummanam Rajasekharan in a statement here said the aim of the DBLM was to enlighten the people on the advantages of cashless transactions and to impart training to use them.
“The program would be kicked off in Kochi on Saturday. We will also form a panel of experts in the banking sector,” he said. He said the specially trained party supporters would teach people in digital transactions, which would cleanse the system of black money, from the panchayat level onwards with the support of residents' associations, clubs and non-governmental organisations. Selected places will be declared as 'complete currency free panchayats' which would be the main aim of DBLM.
