Police officials ordered to reduce crime rate

Kakinada: East Godavari district superintendent of police P. Jagadish instructed the police officials to strengthen the night vigil to reduce the crime rate. He made a crime review on Saturday at Rajamahendravaram with the police officials.

He said that the police officials should prioritize the safety of women and respond immediately to complaints of women harassment, missing women, and others. He also ordered the police to find missing persons on a war footing.

Jagadish also said that the investigation of Pocso cases should be expedited. He instructed the police personnel in the stations to treat petitioners with respect and to inquire into their petitions and resolve them immediately.

He also ordered the police to take steps to curb ganja (cannabis) transportation, consumption, and purchase, as well as illegal liquor. He also directed the police to install CCTV cameras in important places in their respective police station areas.
