Nandyal police organise blood camp

Kurnool: Over 220 people donated blood at the Nandyala district police office on Saturday as part of the police martyrs’ commemoration week.
SP K. Raghuveer Reddy, with the support of the Indian Red Cross district unit, organised a blood donation camp.

The blood collected from such initiatives, aids patients with conditions like thalassemia, who require regular blood transfusions to maintain their red blood cell count, the SP said.

In the district, approximately 80 thalassemia patients are registered, necessitating around 160 blood units each month.

Police officers, staff, and local people participated in the blood donation camp, and certificates were awarded to the donors.
