Elephants Roam in Gottivalasa for 10 days, Forest Department Warns Villagers

Visakhapatnam: Elephant herds have been roaming in Gottivalasa village for the past 10 days. The forest department has alerted the surrounding villages of Gollavanivalasa, Dalivalasa, Vudhavolu, Sivvam, Kothuru, Kotnanaraminaiduvalasa, and Vulibhadra in Garugubilli mandal to be cautious, as the elephant herds are expected to remain in the area for the next couple of days.

A single elephant, Hari, is also present at the Thotapalli Barrage backwater. The forest department has cautioned the surrounding villagers of Basangi, Venkatarajupuram of Jiyyammavalasa mandal, Old Nimmlapadu, Old Bitharapadu, Kallikota, Old Dhuggi, Gunanapuram of Komarada Mandal, Old Markundaputti, Naviri of Parvathipuram Mandal, Yerrannagudi, and Kotnanaraminaiduvalasa of Garugubilli mandal not to roam on the roads during late nights and early mornings.

The forest department has advised the villagers not to wander in the night and has been keenly monitoring the movement of elephants. Villagers have been asked to contact the forest department if they find the elephants roaming in their area.
