HYDERABAD, OCT. 28 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday urged the CBI special court in Hyderabad to first hear cases filed by Central Bureau of Investigation against him for charges of disproportionate assets case and alleged quid pro quo investments in Jagathi Group of Companies.
CM Jagan’s counsel S. Niranjan Reddy, referring to disposal of cases filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2G scam issue after cases filed by CBI had failed to prove the scam, reminded the court that the ED has filed cases only based on CBI charges against his client.
If CBI fails to establish the case against his client, then, automatically, ED cases will turn infructuous, the counsel pointed out. He thus requested the court to first hear cases filed by CBI, rather than conducting the trial at the same time on cases filed by both CBI and ED.
