Sameer Aslam bags PM's Baton, HM's revolver

Hyderabad: The Prime Minister’s Baton and the Home Ministry’s Revolver for the Best All Round IPS Probationer was won by Sameer Aslam Shaik, a BE eletrical and electronics graduate who cleared the civil services in his first attempt.

Hailing from a middle class family from Thane, Maharashtra, Mr Shaik holds eminent IPS officer Julio Francis Ribeiro as his role model.

“Several stories of IPS officials bringing about a change in society inspired me. Being in the IPS is about leadership, job diversity and ensuring justice to the deprived,” he said.
