Thiruvananthapuram: Students Federation of India (SFI) swept the elections to student unions, winning in 60 of the 64 colleges under the Kerala University held on Thursday. The SFI also managed to get a brutal majority in most of them. It was able to wrest the union of the NSS College, Pallipuram from the ABVP for the first time. Similarly, it wrested the college union at the IHRD College, Karthikappally, Iqbal College, Peringamala, and Kaviyode BEd college from the KSU.
The SFI won the elections unopposed at University College; Government Sanskrit College, Thiruvananthapuram, Government Arts College; Thiruvananthapuram, Government College, Malayinkeezhu, Government College, Kariavattom LNCPE, Kariavattom, Marian College of Arts and Science, Menamkulam, Swathi Thirunal Music College, Thiruvananthapuram, SN College, Kollam, SN Women’s College, Kollam, Sreenarayana Law College Kollam, NSS Law College, Kottiyam, SN College, College, Chathanoor, PMS College, Kadakkal, SHM College, Kadakkal.TMA College, Enath and IHRD College, Adoor. Further, the SFI won all the seats it contested at Manania College, Pangode, SN College, Varkala, SN College, Chempazhanthy; Vigyan College, Kattakada, Christian College, Kattakada, Government College, Attingal, Government College, Kanjiramkulam, Kingma College Kulathur, Government Women’s College, Thiruvananthapuram, Government College, Nedumangad; Mar Ivanios College; Thiruvananthapuram, National College; Ambalathara, Government College, Chavara, Fathima Matha National College, Kollam, MMNSS College, Kottiyam, NSS College, Kottiyam, NSS College, Nilamel, St John's College, Anchal, SN College, Punalur, St. Stephen’s College, Pathanapuram, PKM Arts College, Karikode, PKM Engineering College, Karikode, Government college, Thazhava, MSM College, Chavara, Ala SN College, Chengannur, Christian College, Chengannur, Mar Ivanios College, Mavelikkara, Government College, Ambalapuzha, SD College, Alappuzha, SN College, Cherthala, Carmel College, Muhamma, and St Chrystal College, Adoor.
