Kerala treasuries to function on October 2
Thiruvananthapuram: The finance minister’s office on Thursday said treasuries across the state will function on October 2. The DDO deputed exclusively for salary disbursement have been asked to pay extra attention while dealing with salary related matters. The office allayed fears regarding disbursement of salaries for the government staff following the back-to-back holidays. In view of the confusion, SPARK has given direction to the NIC technical experts for maintaining vigil.
The Service and Payroll Administrative Repository for Kerala (SPARK) system through which the salary bills of government staff is processed is being now changed from Proprietary Software to Free software. The technical problems related to SPARK which is an integrated personnel, payroll and account information system for all government employees, are being systematically resolved.
There are reports doing the rounds that because the last two days of September salary bills are submitted and the first two days of October being holidays, the salaries of staff might get delayed. After the reports came to the government’s notice, it clarified that there was no difficulty in logging on to SPARK for preparing salary bills or for E-submit of bills. All reports regarding the possible obstacles in timely salary disbursement are baseless, the minister’s office said.
