Chennai: The investigation into the murder of the Hindu Munnani functionary in Coimbatore last Thursday night has been transferred to the CB CID through an order from state police DGP TK Rajendran. C Sasikumar, Coimbatore unit PRO of the outfit, was hacked to death and the murder had created unrest in the western region of the state for a couple of days.
The case registered at the Thudiyalur police station in Coimbatore district under crime number 735/2016 last Friday has been transferred to CB-CID, the order from the DGP said.
The state police chief also asked the district SP to hand over the case diary and connected records to the CB-CID immediately. The CB-CID chief has been asked to nominate an investigation officer to probe the case and receive all the case details from district officer. A gang on bikes hit Sasikumar’s two-wheeler after which he fell down and he was hacked to death.
