District judge Priyadarshini said the Lok Adalat was being conducted to resolve cases through compromise

Karimnagar: Officials must take steps to get the maximum possible number of cases resolved at the Mega Lok Adalat held on September 11, district judge Priyadarshini said here on Saturday.

She said the Lok Adalat was being conducted to resolve cases through compromise. It is the responsibility of the police to counsel both parties so that they can redresses their issues through negotiation.

Judge Priyadarshini was speaking during a video conference with officials of the police, revenue, excise and jail departments of undivided Karimnagar district on Saturday.

The burden of pending cases at police stations will decrease if complaints are resolved at the Lok Adalat. She told the police to complete investigation into pending cases within the prescribed time limit and issue warrants immediately.

“If there is any delay in allotting CC numbers to the cases in which the chargesheets were filed, bring such matters to my notice,” Priyadarshini said.

Karimnagar police commissionerate Additional DCP G. Chandra Mohan, CCRB assistant commissioner of police Madan Lal, inspectors Rajesh and T. Murali were present.
