Warangal: The negligence of the doctors and hospital staff at the community health centre in Chityal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district resulted in the death of a mother and her child. The deceased Sampelli Kavitha (25) of Mogullapally was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning for delivery.
However, the gynaecologist on duty, Dr Usha Rani, did not come to the hospital. When Kavitha went into labour, the head nurses tried to conduct normal delivery but due to complications, the child died and Kavitha also died due to excess blood loss.
Kavitha’s husband Ramesh alleged that the doctors faked treatment to his wife for two hours before trying to shift her to another hospital.
“The nurse informed us that the child had died but my wife was still alive. However, after some time, they told us that she needed to be shifted to a private hospital as her condition had deteriorated,” he said.
