No love birds into Sanjeevaiah Park
Hyderabad: Finding the right mate to fall in love with may not be too hard in the Tinder-era but try finding a cosy nest to coo-coo into each other’s years.
Not in public parks, in any case, decide the officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), as part of their vision to make Sanjeevaiah Park an exclusive park for children.
To curtail teenagers and grown-ups from entering into the park, the HMDA has decided to disallow persons above the age of 14 years into the park. However, children up to 14 years of age can enter the park, accompanied by their parents, paying an entry fee of `10.
According to HMDA officials, the order was passed to curtail public obscenity and prevent the premises of the rose garden, the butterfly garden and area around the national flag from damages caused by the excesses of lovers.
The authorities have restricted the entry of all persons above 14 years, leaving little scope for ambiguity while admission, and preventing lovers entering separately. Everyone under the age of 14 years can enter park only when accompanied by their parents.
Entry would be free for government school children if they are accompanied by teachers.
The authorities have also decided to launch awareness programmes on the harmful impact of plastic and the importance of greenery to be conducted in the park to educate school children.
