Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University to tie up with NAARM

A-IDEA is functioning at Centre for Agri innovation; ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad.

KOCHI: The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) will collaborate with National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad, in the areas of agri innovation, technology business incubation, tech-enabled learning, technology commercialisation, faculty-level training and student internships. KVASU will associate with Agri Udaan, the food and agri business accelerator programme of NAARM and the association for innovation development of entrepreneurship in agriculture (a-IDEA), of NAARM which is supported by the Department of Science and Technology.

A-IDEA is functioning at Centre for Agri innovation; ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad. This envisages an agri entrepreneurial ecosystem in India that promotes innovation through cutting edge technology and economic value addition. This will support powerful agri business and technology ventures through capacity building and facilitating access to knowledge and resources. “Agri Udaan will facilitate 200 agribusiness start-ups to accelerate their business. At a time when KVASU is in the process of launching start-ups in agribusiness sector in collaboration with NAARM and a-IDEA, the new move will facilitate to strengthen agribusiness ventures and agripreneurship in the country,” says Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan who recently led a delegation from KVASU and discussed with NAARM officials from Hyderabad on the tieup.

K.Sreenivas, Chief Executive Officer, a-IDEA, NAARM said that senior officials from NAARM will visit KVASU campuses during October 2017 and finalize the broad areas of collaboration with KVASU. An MoU will be signed to strengthen agribusiness ventures in the State. Proposed KVASU-NAARM collaboration will position KVASU’s entrepreneurship initiatives to the national level, he said.
