Fruits, vegetables being sold under unhygienic conditions: Swiss students
BENGALURU: Food joints run by educated youth, vegetables sold under unhygienic conditions and majority of the houses opting for Vaastu architecture were some of the observations made by a team of 17 students from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Switzerland. Their stay in the city was part of ‘Minor in Area and Culture Studies’. Sharing their observations, the students said on Sunday that they visited different places of worship, markets, green spaces, food streets and houses, for critical thinking and reflexivity on contemporary issues faced by Bangalore.
A student, Leo Ficheux, said, “Owners of the houses we visited gave prominence to Vaastu." One set of students who visited the City Market said that the place was stinky and overcrowded. “It was shocking that fruits and vegetables were being sold under unhygienic conditions,” they said. Students who visited food joints found that most the food points were run by educated youth.
