Punalur youth pens a tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam

KOLLAM: In a rare tribute to the Missile Man of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary, P. Muhammad Shafi, a youth from Punalur, has published a book that portrays day-to-day account of his life. An ardent fan of Dr Kalam, Mr Shafi released the book Arinjathum Ariyaathathumaaya Kalam by presenting it to the late President's niece Dr Naseema Marakkar.

"The book is about a man who urged us to dream. The most relevant incidents that took place in the life of this extraordinary man has been depicted in the book as reports, starting from his birth to death. The book also contains reports that never appeared in any media. I had directly conversed with his relatives during the creation of this book," Mr Shafi told DC.

The content of the book is in news reporting format. It gives light into Mr Kalam's life and some of the key incidents. The book contains 166 chapters in over 240 pages. Chapters also include Mr Kalam's life in Kerala, his visits and acquaintances. The book also includes memoirs about Kalam by eminent personalities. Mr Shafi is a B.Com graduate and a freelance journalist hailing from Charuvila Puthenveedu at Komalamkunnu in Punalur.
