Techie's posers to Oommen Chandy go viral

Kiran also questioned the promises by the UDF in the election manifesto of 2011 for a four-lane road

Kochi: A Kochi-based techie’s Facebook post asking 10 specific questions of CM Oommen Chandy on several issues ranging from transparency to corruption has gone viral. Kiran Thomas, a left supporter and working as a Software Engineer posted the questions on Facebook. Kiran avoided the usual political questions such as the bar scam and solar scam but chose issues affecting the common man.

Kiran asked the CM’s frank opinions on the National Herald issue, gifting iPads and smartphones to MLAs and CM himself avoiding it, Koodankulam struggle and several issues. In one question, Kiran chose the UPA government’s foreign Direct Investment policy. “Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the retail sector was a policy of the UPA governemnt. Can you explain the reason for not implementing the same in Kerala?”

“When you were the opposition leader your party conducted agitations against land acquisiton for using the power generated from the Koodankulam project. It took four years for you to solve the issue,” he wrote.

Kiran also questioned the promises by the UDF in the election manifesto of 2011 for a four-lane road. “Can you publish the investment bought into the state through Emerging Kerala and the Global Investor Meet”, Kiran asked in another question.
