Kerala: No re-exam for plus-two geography
Thiruvananthapuram: Higher secondary director M. S. Jaya submitted a report to the education department on Tuesday pointing out that there was no need to conduct re-exams for Plus-Two Geography paper. The complaint was that 43 questions of the model question paper prepared by the KSTA were repeated. However, only 17 questions were repeated in the question paper, that too was not deliberate, but a coincidence, the report pointed out.
Meanwhile, the general education department has asked the government to probe into the allegation about any teacher having relations with the Malabar Education Research Institute (MERIT) based at Thottumukkam at Areekode accused of leaking the mathematics questions. This was because the general education department did not have the expertise to conduct such an examination.
The SSLC re-examination scheduled for March 30 also faced hitches because the tests for Class V to IX are scheduled in schools in the morning. Teachers who complete the duty for these examinations by 12.30 pm have to reach a nearby school for the SSLC examinations at 1.30 pm, T. S. Salim, general secretary of KPSTA told Deccan Chronicle. Some teachers would have to travel nearly 20 km to attend SSLC examination duty from their school, he said.
