Thiruvananthapuram: Cabinet on Wednesday is likely to decide on the successor of chief secretary S. M. Vijayanand who is scheduled to retire on March 31. Additional chief secretary (Home ) Nalini Netto who is the senior most IAS officer after Vijayanand, is expected to be the new chief secretary from April 1.
Meanwhile, there is no decision yet on who would take over as home secretary. Nalini Netto will have a five month tenure as chief secretary. Another senior bureacrat, additional chef secretary (GAD) Sheela Thomas will attain super annuation on March 31.
