KOCHI: Ernakulam District Collector K. Mohammed Y Safirulla on Tuesday suggested that an immediate action plan should be formulated to devise top quality software and hardware to ensure the security of personal information scattered in the cyber space and to prevent its misuse. Mr Safirulla was speaking at the concluding function of the five day workshop on cyber intelligence and cyber security organised by the cyber intelligence research laboratory of Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat).

Dr. K.V. Pramod, director of cyber intelligence research laboratory of computer application department, suggested that the development and formulation of indigenous software is the need of the hour to ensure the cyber security. RBI IT Chief C. Ganesh Kumar, N. Krishnan Moothath, former director Cyber Bureua, Ministry of Defence, A.R.S. Iyer, Former Joint director of Intelligence Bureau, led the sessions.
