Kerala: Video of woman slapping girl for dancing in flash mob goes viral

Kochi: A video showing an angry spectator slapping a girl for participating in a flash mob performance has gone viral on social media.

The video depicts a group of students dancing to Lean On by Major Lazer and DJ Snake at the bus stop in Kerala’s Payyannur.

The incident occurred when the song came to an end, prompting the onlookers to believe that the performance had ceased, but when the students lined up for another round, the woman, dressed in orange, came forward and slapped the girl.

While some local media reports cite the woman to be the girl’s mother, who was upset over her daughter bunking college, other reports say that she was upset and annoyed over the delay caused by the performance.

She also berated the entire bunch for holding back and delaying the commuters.
