Forest Rights Panel Clears Six Roads

Visakhapatnam: The district-level forest rights committee has given permits for six roads in Gummalakshmipuram and Kurupam mandals. A committee chaired by district collector Nishant Kumar, comprising revenue, forest and tribal welfare departments, examined the joint inspection report and allowed the construction of roads. With this move, many tribal villages will be connected to the mainstream.

The tribal welfare executive engineer submitted proposals for the six below roads. Gummalakshmipuram mandal 0.314 hectares from Babbidi BT Road to Ravivalasa, 0.300 hectares from Koosa, Nondrukona Road to Yedakallu, 0.93 hectares from Savarguda junction to Bandiguda of Kurupam mandal, 0.49 hectares from Balleru to Savarguda and Teelesu to Gumandangi 0.93 hectares and for 0.95 hectares from Tenukharja to Gotivada Road. With this, the tribal welfare engineering department has received 13 forest permits so far.
