HC Asks CBFC to Clear RGV's to Vyuham' in 10 days

Hyderabad: Justice Surepalli Nanda of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday set a 10-day deadline for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to give a censor certificate to the Ram Gopal Varma-directed movie ‘Vyuham’. The filmmakers had approached the court after the CBFC refused to grant a certification due to the model code of conduct in Telangana.

The movie was scheduled for a November 10 release but was delayed after the censor board refused to certify it, based on a letter sent by Lokesh. Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma has also directed the sequel to the film, titled ‘Shapatham’.

Senior counsel S. Niranjan Reddy, appearing for the producer, contended there was no need to delay the certification because of the elections.

‘Vyuham’ is a political drama revolving around contemporary politics in Andhra Pradesh. It has garnered the spotlight as TD leaders have claimed that the movie was made to favour Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and defame party chief Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh.
