Hyderabad: Man stranded in Dubai seeks help

Mr Sarfaraz Khan from Asifabad When asked his kafil (employer) for his passport toreturn India, the request was turned down.

Hyderabad: The family of city resident Ibrahim Dhorajvi, who was detained in Dubai, is seeking assistance of the external affairs minister to secure his release from a diamond company.

Mr Ibrahim Dhorajvi from Shagunj in the Old City went to Dubai five years back and was working with Le Paris Diamonds. He visited Hyderabad in 2013 when his father Mohammad Abdul Aleem got a cardiac attack. Mr Dhorajvi’s mother, Ms Afroze Banu said that due to some disputes among workers, Le Paris Diamonds manager Rehan Multani took passport of Mr Dhorajvi and was not allowing him to leave Dubai over the past three years.

In another case, Mr Sarfaraz Khan from Asifabad district is seeking assistance of the MEA to bring him back to India.

He went to Jubail in Saudi Arabia in 2015, and fell ill recently. As the medicines which he is being administered in Saudi Arabia were causing allergy, he wanted to return home.

When he asked his kafil (employer) for his passport, the request was turned down. The kafil said that the passport was lost, and that Mr Sarfaraz Khan should stay back.

Mr Khan approached the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to seek the assistance of the ministry of external affairs.

In both cases, the Majlis Bachao Tehreek has written letters to the external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj seeking here assistance.
