CBSE opens Aadhaar facilitation centres
Thiruvananthapuram: With the CBSE making Aadhaar mandatory for applying for JEE examinations, the qualifying examinations for admissions to IITs and other central institutions like NITs, CBSE has announced a list of facilitation centres to help students who have not yet enrolled. The JEE asked applicants not yet enrolled to apply for Aadhaar in case they are entitled to as per Section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Such applicants should visit any Aadhaar enrolment centre, list of which is available at www.uidai.gov.in to get enrolled. The CBSE has set up facilitation centres in each city of examination. The applicants can approach such centres offering services free. Those who have registered but not received Aadhaar should enter the 28-digit enrolment ID at the time of filling online application form for JEE (Main) 2017.
In the case of the facility not available at the facilitation centres, the applicants should submit a request for Aadhaar enrolment; the centre will issue a registration number which should be entered at the time of filling online application for JEE (Main) 2017. The online process will start on December 1. The last date for application is January 2, 2017, and fee can be paid up to January 3, 2017.
