Mega job fest Lakshya-2016' on Nov 5

KOZHIKODE: ‘Lakshya-2016’, the mega job fest to be held by the employability centre under the professional employment exchange on November 5, boasts of 3,000 vacancies in the private sector. “Around 45 companies will be present to absorb suitable candidates. These include well established firms in Automobile, IT, Healthcare, Insurance, Manufacturing, Finance, FMCG, Education, Hospitality, HR sectors,” said Anjali S. Nair, the centre head. IT companies like Cybrosis Technologies, De Sparrow IT Solutions, Nucore Software Solutions among others will participate.

Since its inception in June 2013, more than 2,000 youth have been successfully placed through job fairs conducted through the centre. Only two companies have been put on the blacklist due to the inordinate delay in giving salary. Youth having qualifications from Plus-two to Post graduation are being registered at the centre after paying Rs 250 for lifetime. Job seekers will be enrolled in a skill development course comprising communication skills, computer basics and interview tips.

“Most of the youth fail when it comes to communication. So, we give importance to that aspect,” Anjali explained. The second such initiative in the state, the employability centre has been conducting job drives regularly at the centre and full-fledged job fairs at public venues once every three months. Minister T.P Ramakrishnan will inaugurate the mega job fest at 10 am at Govt Polytechnic College in West hill. Freshers can also participate by using the on-the-spot registration facility. More details are available on 0495-2370178/6.
